"The next big frontier in medicine is energy medicine."

"Reiki is increasingly being incorporated into modern medicine because of one compelling reason...
it works!"
Larry Dossey, MD (2005)
"In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy"
Albert Szent-Gydrgyl, MD, Nobel Laureate
“We have done a pilot study of reiki massage for autistic children. The preliminary results are encouraging, especially when the parents are taught the reiki along with visualization in between formal appointments with the therapist. The use of reiki by parents and therapist appears to encourage communication; especially non-verbal communication children are calmer and have less self-stimulation.”
Lewis Mehl-Madrona, MD, PhD (2000)

Are you looking for an all-natural, time tested method
of stress reduction that can help your child?
Reiki sessions are the answer. A typical Reiki session begins with a conversation to identify your child's current areas of need. Sessions are scheduled for 30 or 60 minutes. Younger children generally do well with shorter sessions, while older children benefit greatly from a 60 minute session.
Reiki sessions are performed with the child fully clothed. During the session, the hands of the therapist are placed on or near specific areas of the body in order to activate the healing response. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders often have sensory integration problems, which may result in discomfort with imposed touch. If this is the case, the hands can be placed above the body or on the child's hands or feet.
Younger children can sit in their parent's lap or they can be treated while engaged in some type of quiet activity such as coloring or playing. Some children, especially older ones, are able to lay on a massage table with soft music playing, which can enhance the effects of the treatment. Parents are encouraged to remain in the treatment room with the child. Although Reiki sessions are not meant as a cure for any disorder, they can improve the results of conventional therapies, such as special education, speech and language, occupational and physical therapy, etc. Reiki is quickly gaining popularity as a complementary and alternative treatment and is now used in over 40 hospitals in the United States.
